Introduction
Hello my name is Dr. Elizabeth Klipfell and welcome to my electronic portfolio!
This ePortfolio was originally designed as the cumulative assignment to showcase all of the technology I have learned in my Instructional Technology course (EDCI 505) at Ashland University. I am currently completing the Bachelor's Plus teacher licensure program requirements for Integrated Science grades 7-12. My unique educational and research background provides me with the knowledge and skills required to promote the new 21st century standards in science education. I got my BS from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry, and my Ph.D. in Integrative Biosciences with a focus on Cell and Developmental Biology from Penn State. My thesis was on the identification and characterization of protein-protein interactions in Drosophila (fruit flies). After graduating in 2006, I began my five and a half years experience working at the Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Research Institute doing cardiovascular diagnostics and cancer research. I also have four years of teaching experience at the college level during my graduate studies and have always enjoyed teaching others.
It is my hope that this ePortfolio successfully demonstrates my ability in incorporating technology into the classroom for teaching and learning purposes.
